HOW YOU CAN HELP

SUPPORT THE HUM MISSION OF HOMELESS PREVENTION & ASSISTANCE

With poverty at record highs in Volusia County what we need most to continue our vital work in our community are financial donations. Non-Perishable food donations are always needed, learn more about items & drop off locations. We often have volunteer opportunities,  and if you have a business or trade skills please let us know you are available to help when needed.

All financial donations to our ministry make a difference! If you are a philanthropic individual, offer corporate giving, oversee a foundation, or are part of a group looking for a way to help our community, we can work with you to make a huge impact. Often partnering with HUM also provides tax benefits and can provide the added value of cause marketing through sponsorship of our fundraisers. But even donating a couple dollars helps, small gifts add up, making a big difference in the lives of struggling people. There are several ways to direct your giving to HUM and we would be happy to discuss any unique circumstances or gifts.

 

Online, Mailed or Personal Donations: You can donate to our general budget, Feed a Family homeless prevention food packages & financial assistance, daily hot meal, family shelter-rehousing or direct services programs to help overcome homelessness on our donation page

 

Planned Giving: Halifax Urban Ministries can work with your own advisers or assist with programs such as a Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Remainder Trust, or naming HUM in Your Will to leave a legacy for your favorite charities and receive tax benefits for yourself and your loved ones. Get information on our Planned Giving Page

 

Family Shelter Sponsorship: Designate your giving to help homeless families with children. You will provide a safe place to stay, 3 meals a day, tutoring, case management, employment & child care assistance, life skills & budgeting classes. Help families in our emergency and 3-month transitional program so they can return to permanent housing as self-sustaining members of our community. Please donate at the Family Shelter page
